Isabelle Glass is a Collection of handmade kiln-formed glass rocks.

As an artist, I am inspired by Medieval, Renaissance and Celtic cultures. I design the color and texture of my glass rock by manipulating some of the glass in a torch, using frit glass and cutting up bits and pieces of glass; then layering the pieces in a multi-layer collage tile according to the design I have in mind. Once in the kiln, the glass melts together, capturing a magical dance of color, illumination and texture into a chunky tile. The shapes of glass are hand-cut at a wet saw, smoothed at a grinder and re-fired to fire polish. All of the jewelry is made with fine silver. The silver is connected to the glass either by piercing the glass with silver or the glass is fused around the silver. All settings and glass are original.

This year, I am excited to debut my line of architectural accessories: light fixtures, hanging chandeliers, mobiles, tiles and knobs. Custom colors, shapes and sizes. Please contact me for more information.

During the winter time, from January thru April, I will be teaching workshops and classes in making glass.

Lots of fun to throw a party around my jewelry… great way of earning free jewelry… intimate experience for your friends… no pressure sales pitch.

I love creating magic with my hands.

I consider myself a renaissance woman and self-taught artist. There is freedom in finding my way in a medium, letting my style come forth. During my childhood and teenage years, I was a weaver, a potter and clothing designer.

I took a long break from creativity during and after college… thinking that I had to get “serious” and make a living. Then one day, walking on the Upper West Side of NYC, I saw a sewing machine in the window… the artist within emerged once again… and could not be denied. I eventually became a textile and clothing designer; started and ran my high-end clothing business for 10 years during the ‘90s. The Isabelle label was carried in some of the most exclusive boutiques in the US and Canada.

I am inspired by the play of light and color combinations in nature. It is my intention to create glass that is reminiscent of rocks and crystals; light and color dancing in its interior.
